Blog Post #5 – …Hello.

I thought it was about time that I did a blog post for everyone. Like Jet, I’ve also been away for quite some time so I thought I’d do a bit of catching up with you all!

So, over the past few months, I’ve been pretty unwell in regards to my M.E, so I spent a lot of time in bed and trying to socialise whenever I felt okay. I’ve also been planning to move back to Brighton (Jet is really, not very happy about this).

I just wanted to reassure everyone, Jet included, that just because I am moving away it does not mean that I will disappear from TGG! There is no TGG without Jet and I, and we have worked ever so hard to be able to make our dreams come true. It will be a challenge but I am totally more than willing to do what I always do on TGG – I will just be living in Brighton for work. I would absolutely adore to work on TGG full time and earn enough money to live – but as of right now that isn’t happening. Regardless of what happens with TGG and whether we make money or not, TGG is my passion and baby. I write because I enjoy to write and talk about the industry with everyone, so no matter what happens – I will always write. Nothing could ever, ever stop me from writing about my passion.

So, for the next few weeks I am living in Brighton while job hunting and flat hunting. I also really enjoy driving around the city – but that might be because I learnt to drive here. Anyway, I’m excited to move back because it’s a city that everyone falls in love with. It has the countryside, the bustling city centre… it’s just perfection for someone like me. It’s also a really, really good location for game design and game journalism jobs, as many companies are based in Brighton; and with London only an hour or so on the train, it makes job hunting a lot easier. In Cornwall, there are no journalism jobs or game design jobs, so I have no choice but to move away! I want to work in something I have a great love and interest in, and the gaming industry is what I chose when I left school. It’s the same now.

I hope you’re all doing okay, anyway! I’ve missed writing a lot over the last few weeks, so I’m glad to be back. While I’m here, I wanted to tell you guys about a band that I have recently fallen in love with (it’s not Don Broco – they’ll always be my #1). I listen to a wide range of music, from heavy screamo to jpop and jrock. I adore Perfume, but I am also a huge fan of Atreyu and Parkway Drive. Anyway, if you are into J-Rock and J-Pop, give KANA-BOON a listen. They are so, so so so fun to listen to. They are always on when I’m driving because they make it a lot more fun. My current favourite songs of theirs are Talking, Me To Me To Me and Silhouette. If you like these guys, you’d also really like SCANDAL too. My faves are Awanai Tsumori no, Genke de ne, Image, and Take Me Out. I wont bombard you with the rest of them ❤

Let me know what you think!
