Horizon Zero Dawn Sales Exceed 2.6 Million

Sony announced that Horizon Zero Dawn’s global sales have exceeded 2.6 million. Horizon Zero Dawn was developed by Guerrilla Games and was released on the 28th February and received high scores across the board. This news also means that Horizon Zero Dawn is one of the best-selling new IP’s and Guerrilla’s breakthrough debut.

“We knew Horizon Zero Dawn was going to be something special, so to see the incredible critical reaction to a brand new game world translate into this level of sales is really gratifying,” Shawn Layden, Chairman of SIE Worldwide Studios said, “Guerrilla has created a game that is nothing short of exceptional, and the reaction we have seen from fans – from hours and hours of gameplay streaming to endless photo sharing – shows just how impactful it has been.”

We’re thrilled that Horizon Zero Dawn has been embraced by critics and players alike. Developing the game was a labor of love, so it’s extremely satisfying to see that it elicits the same passion and enthusiasm from the gaming public that we felt during its development,” Hermen Hulst, Guerrilla’s Managing Director expressed. “This is only the beginning of Aloy’s story and our exploration of the world of Horizon Zero DAwn, with the team already hard at work on an expansion to the story.”

So, with that, we have confirmation that an expansion is currently being developed as we speak – so HZD fans will have more to explore and do when it is released.

Have you played Horizon Zero Dawn? What are your thoughts?

  1. Thank you for the update! I have not played HZD, but I am hearing really great things about it. I wish I could say that I will be getting it soon but I believe my next game will be ARK. Eventually I am sure that I will this game though. Have a great weekend!
