Are you ready for Destiny: Rise of iron?

Destiny DLC finally on the horizon
ThatNerdyGirl here! Destiny’s expansion Rise of iron is fast approaching, you have 9 days left to prepare if you haven’t already. So before you lose yourself in Destiny once again and eat microwave meals & bowls of crisps for the next few weeks, I’ve got some tips on what to do to be as ready as you can be.

1. Exotic Shards
You’re going to need a whole lot of exotic shards; Relic Iron, Spinmetal and Helium Filaments. if you want to get your upgrades on weapons you’re more that likely going to need plenty of these items, it’s a case of grinding/farming as we’ve all done plenty of times in previous expansions, the struggle is all too real.

2. Strange coins, a whole tonne of them!
Like the Taken King you’re going to want a whole load of strange coins, you can never have too many to get on the grind with those too and farm like your guardians life depends on it. Xur is most definitely going to be selling things you want and if you’re anything like me and don’t take the time to farm for coins you’re going to be the disappointed friend of your friend group when you’ve not got the new weapons/armor etc.

3. Motes of light
You’re going to really want to be hanging on to any Motes of Light you currently have or collecting up as many as you can and saving them until after the release of the expansion to enable yourself to upgrade and level up your gear, this is going to be one of the main things you want to do to prepare.

4. Legendary marks
Now, my fellow guardians we’ve all been in the position where we have a tonne of legendary marks and feel it’s time to treat ourselves, you do a little bit of window shopping and in no time you’re all out of marks thanks to a legendary gear spree. So get on to farming these and don’t spend them all at once!

5. Keep your engrams!
It’s probably a good idea for now to keep any engrams you have (unless green, screw green!) because the likelihood that they will come out at a higher level after the Rise of iron release so it’s worth just holding on to those for now!

The countdown begins!
I hope this has been slightly useful, but you’ve not got long now and I myself have got some serious grinding/farming to do if I want to get the best out of the expansion, I’m still at a pretty low light level of just 316 on my hunter so I need to be taking my own advice. It was getting super frustrating however.

Doing challenge of elders one after the other and only getting green drops and very low blue drops, none above my 316 light so it’s been on heck of a slow process for me which did push me away from the game for a while, but I am looking forward to getting back with my good old fire team and having a bunch of laughs and sitting for hours at the tower, admiring the view or dancing (seriously though who doesn’t spend most of their time at the tower trying to synchronize dances with friends?) Anyhow, if you haven’t already get your pre-order of Rise of iron and be ready for the 20th of September, stay safe Guardians!
